Metabase Integration

Connect your Metabase instance to Revelry Ai to query dashboards, datasets, and saved questions directly from chat using MCP tools.

Prerequisites​

  • A Metabase instance running v0.60 or later with OAuth enabled
  • Manage Integrations permission in Revelry Ai (for shared setup)
  • The Metabase integration must be enabled for your organization

Connecting Metabase​

  1. Go to the Integrations page (under My Organization in your account menu at the bottom of the left navigation)
  2. Open the Personal tab
  3. Find Metabase in the available integrations list
  4. Click Connect
  5. You'll be redirected to your Metabase instance's OAuth authorization page
  6. Sign in with your Metabase credentials (if not already signed in)
  7. Review the permissions Revelry Ai is requesting
  8. Authorize the connection
  9. You'll be redirected back to Revelry Ai

Each user connects their own Metabase account, so query results respect individual Metabase permissions.

Available MCP Tools​

Tools are auto-discovered from your Metabase instance's embedded MCP server, so the exact set depends on your Metabase configuration and version. Typical capabilities include searching tables, constructing queries, running native SQL, and working with metrics — all scoped to the Metabase user the connection authenticates as.

Using Metabase in Chat​

With the integration active, you can ask the AI to pull data from Metabase during a conversation:

  • "What were our top 10 customers by revenue last quarter?"
  • "Search Metabase for dashboards related to churn"
  • "Pull the latest numbers from our monthly KPI dashboard"

The AI will call the appropriate Metabase MCP tools, retrieve the data, and incorporate the results into its response.

Managing the Connection​

To manage or disconnect your Metabase integration:

  1. Navigate to Integrations
  2. Find your Metabase connection
  3. View connection status or disconnect the integration

Availability​

The Metabase integration is behind a feature flag and may need to be enabled for your organization. If you don't see Metabase in your available integrations, contact your organization admin or Revelry Ai support.
