Jira Integration

Connect your Atlassian account to Revelry Ai to search, create, and update Jira issues directly from chat using the official Atlassian Rovo MCP Server.

Prerequisites

  • A Jira Cloud account (Jira Data Center / Server is not supported by Atlassian's Rovo MCP Server)
  • Access to the Jira projects you want to work with
  • The Jira integration must be enabled for your organization

Connecting Jira

  1. Go to the Integrations page (under My Organization in your account menu at the bottom of the left navigation)
  2. Open the Personal tab
  3. Find Jira in the available integrations list
  4. Click Connect
  5. You'll be redirected to Atlassian to sign in and authorize
  6. If your Atlassian account has access to multiple Cloud sites, choose which site(s) to grant on Atlassian's consent screen
  7. Authorize the connection and you'll be redirected back to Revelry Ai

Each user connects their own Atlassian account, so every Jira action runs with your individual Jira permissions. There is no shared organization-wide connection.

Using Jira in Chat

With the integration active, toggle Jira on in the chat integrations selector and work with issues conversationally:

  • "Find all open bugs in Project Alpha"
  • "Create a story titled 'Redesign onboarding' in PROJ"
  • "Transition PROJ-456 to In Review"
  • "Add a comment to PROJ-789 summarizing this conversation"
  • "Log 2 hours on PROJ-321"

The AI calls the appropriate Jira tools (searching with JQL, creating and editing issues, workflow transitions, comments, worklogs, and project or issue-type lookups) and incorporates the results into its response. The same toggle is available in the skill editor, so skills can use Jira tools when they run.

Managing the Connection

To manage or disconnect your Jira integration:

  1. Navigate to Integrations
  2. Find your Jira connection
  3. View connection status and granted scopes, or disconnect the integration

Disconnecting removes your stored credentials and disables the Jira tools; it does not affect anyone else's connection.

Troubleshooting

The Jira card or toggle is missing. The integration may not be enabled for your organization (see Availability), or you haven't connected an account yet — the chat toggle links to the connect page in that case.

Authorization fails or loops back with an error. Retry the flow first; a transient failure during Atlassian's authorization steps surfaces as a generic "failed to initiate authorization" message.

Tools fail with permission-style errors. Jira tool calls run with your Jira permissions. If you can't see a project or perform a transition in Jira itself, the tools can't either.

Wrong Cloud site connected. Site selection happens on Atlassian's consent screen, not in Revelry Ai. Disconnect, reconnect, and choose the correct site when Atlassian prompts.

Access was revoked. If you revoked access from your Atlassian account settings, the tools stop working until you reconnect from the integration page. Normal token expiry is handled automatically and never requires reconnecting.

Availability

The Jira integration is behind a feature flag and may need to be enabled for your organization. If you don't see Jira in your available integrations, contact your organization admin or Revelry Ai support.
