This release introduces Claude Opus 4.8 with full thinking support, reimagines the model selector for improved usability, and adds real-time visibility into tool operations.

New Features​

Claude Opus 4.8 — With Full Thinking Support​

Claude Opus 4.8 is now available with Adaptive Thinking. OpenAI and Google models also support their own thinking and reasoning modes, configurable per model. Adaptive Thinking unlocks Opus 4.8 for complex analysis, multi-step reasoning, and nuanced writing.

Redesigned Model Selector​

The active model now appears directly in the chat composer with a searchable dropdown, replacing the previous hidden settings location. You always know which model you're talking to, and switching is one click away instead of buried in settings.

Live Streaming Tool Activity​

Tool operations now display in real time rather than waiting for completion. Tool calls no longer feel frozen — you get live feedback showing exactly what the AI is doing at every step.
