Exporting from chat

To get an artifact out of a conversation, ask for one in plain English. Revelry Ai creates it with its artifact tools: you describe what you want saved, and it handles the rest.

You can also save one chat message as an artifact when you want to keep it exactly as it is.

Ask for an artifact

Whenever you want to keep something from a conversation, say so in your own words:

  • "Save this as an artifact."
  • "Turn what we discussed into a PRD artifact."
  • "Combine the analysis and the recommendations above into one report."

You get the artifact right in the conversation. Revelry Ai can pull content from across the whole conversation, reshape it on the way, and pick classifications from context. You can keep refining the artifact in chat after it's created.

Saving one message

When you want to preserve a specific message exactly as it appears:

  1. Chat until a message has content worth saving
  2. Click the Save as artifact icon on that message
  3. In the Save Artifact dialog, optionally pick an Artifact Type from the dropdown, and click Change beside Saving to and pick a category
  4. Click the Save Artifact button. The message content is now an artifact, and the message's icon changes to View artifact
tip

Save once you're happy with the content. You can keep the conversation going and save later.

Classifying the artifact

In the Save Artifact dialog, both classifications are optional and set separately:

  • Artifact Type: the format or purpose, such as "PRD," "Roadmap," or "User Story"
  • Category: where it's filed, such as "Product," "Engineering," or "Design." Saving to shows the project, or a folder in it. Click Change to pick a different folder

The picker lists your categories, with Project at the top for saving with no category. Opening a category shows its subcategories, with a breadcrumb trail back to the project. Leave either one unset and the artifact saves without it.

Why categorize

A category keeps related artifacts together. When category folders are turned on, your artifact shows up when someone picks that category on the project's Artifacts tab.

A category also narrows who can see the artifact. People need access to the project, and if the artifact is in a category, they also need to be in one of the category's groups. Every artifact in a category shares its access.

Available categories

You see the categories that are both assigned to your current project and open to one of your groups. Different projects can show different options, and you can only save to categories you have access to.

After saving

Once saved, your artifact:

  • Lives in its project, under Projects
  • Can be viewed and edited
  • Can be shared with a link or exported
  • Can be found by chat in the same project
  • Isn't in Knowledge until you save it there

Adding an artifact to Knowledge

Chat in the same project can already find your artifact. To make it a Knowledge document, which Knowledge Search finds for the groups you choose:

  1. Open the artifact
  2. Click Save to Knowledge
  3. Choose which groups can see it, and any collections to add it to
  4. Click Save to Knowledge to confirm. A document is created that mirrors the artifact

Choosing what goes into Knowledge

A conversation becomes an artifact, and an artifact you save to Knowledge becomes a document that can go into collections. By choosing what to save to Knowledge, you decide which past work future conversations can draw on.

Several artifacts from one chat

A single conversation can produce several artifacts:

  1. Ask for (or save) one artifact
  2. Continue the conversation
  3. Ask for (or save) another

This helps when one chat produces several deliverables.

What happens to the chat?

After saving an artifact, the chat stays open. You can keep the conversation going and create more artifacts, and the saved message shows a View artifact icon that opens the artifact.

The chat and the artifact are linked, and changing one doesn't change the other.

Artifact actions after saving

Once you have an artifact, you can:

  • Edit the content directly
  • Save it to Knowledge, so Knowledge Search can find it
  • Share it with a link
  • Copy it, download it as a PDF, or send it to Google Drive once you've connected your Google account
  • Send it to GitHub as an issue once your organization adds a GitHub repository as a data source
