Collections

Use a collection to keep related documents and data sources together, then point a chat at it to keep Knowledge search within that set.

When to use a collection

Use a collection when a chat should answer from a set of documents you choose. For example, if Knowledge holds both draft and signed contracts, put the signed ones in a "Signed contracts" collection and select it before you ask about renewal terms. Knowledge search then reads only the signed versions.

If any document you can see might help, don't select a collection. Knowledge search then covers every document you can see, plus Global documents, which Revelry Ai publishes to every organization and marks Global.

To select a collection in a chat or a Skill with Knowledge turned on, open Advanced in the tool settings menu, check the collection on the Collections tab, and click Save Settings.

note

Project collections are off by default. Contact your Revelry Ai team to enable.

Creating and managing collections

Steps to create a collection

  1. Click Knowledge in the left navigation.
  2. Click the Collections tab.
  3. Click the + button at the top of the page and choose the option to add a collection. You need permission to create collections.
  4. Enter a Name (it must be unique in your organization) and, if you like, a Description.
  5. Click Save Collection. The new collection opens.

Adding documents to a collection

  1. In the collection, click Add Documents (or, on the Documents tab, Add Documents from Knowledge).
  2. Check the documents.
  3. Click Done. The documents appear on the collection's Documents tab.

Upload New Documents uploads files straight into the collection. To add every document in a data source, click Connect Data Sources (or, on the Sources tab, Add Data Sources), check the data sources, and click Done.

Creating collections in chat

You can also ask the AI in a chat with Knowledge turned on to create a collection, if you have permission to create collections. If a collection with that name already exists, ignoring capitalization, the AI doesn't create a second one. The new collection starts empty, so add documents to it here.
